Welcome Reception - Sunday 17 June 2012
The Welcome reception will take place at the Maastricht City Hall. In the seventeenth century, the City Hall was built on the market square. Its location, in the middle of the square, enclosed by the façades of the surrounding houses, symbolized the central position of the government authority. The exterior of the Maastricht City Hall is extraordinary, but the interior is also famous, owing to the beautiful ceiling paintings, tapestries and gold leather wallpaper.
